I'm thankful dad's white blood count is great now and that he is doing trach collar this morning. I pray he does amazing on it. I loved being able to spend Friday and yesterday with him. His smile is one of the best things in the world. (:

Thursday, 5/27

A normal site blood count is 4 to 10. My dad's was 13, but after being on antibiotics for a few days it's down to 9. Thank you, Lord. Praying that continues to lower. He is still on air vo at 50%. The secretions have been a lot so praying they are minimal and that they antibiotics help with this so they can wean him. Thank you for continuing hoping, praying, and believing with us for our dad to get better!

Tuesday, 5/25

My dad is on air-vo right now to rest some and then hopefully can do the trach collar today. They said he has some pneumonia so they started antibiotics yesterday. Thank you for continuing to pray for my dad to get stronger and that he fully heals. It means so much to us.

Thursday, 5/20

Dad did great on pressure support and did the trach collar all yesterday. He is now on trach collar again today. Praying he continues doing well.

Wednesday, 5/19

I'm so thankful that dad has had an awesome few days! He's been on pressure support since yesterday. Praying he can move to trach collar soon. He's been very alert, sharp, and connecting a lot with us. Thank you, Lord. So grateful.

Saturday, 5/15

It's been a tough few days. Dad had a setback and fell Wednesday night and they had to change his trach two times since it was out of place. They found one that is now working well. The protocol once that happened is to put the person back on the vent and then start weaning again. So, now he is on the vent and he is doing most of the breathing. They are going to try pressure support today. If he does well on that, the next step would be air vo. If he does well on that then the trach collar. I'm in town from SC and am so glad I got to see dad yesterday and am going to see him today. He is very alert, looked good, and smiled a lot yesterday when I was with him. As hard as this few days have been, we are trying to look forward, and just are in awe of how strong our dad is. Lord, Thank you that all things are possible with you. We pray your hand of protection on dad, we pray he would thrive on these settings so he could be on the trach collar again soon and then after that be able

Wednesday, 5/12

Dad is at 35% on trach collar and doing well. His secretions look clear today which hopefully means there is no infection- thank you, Lord! He's been doing well in PT and speech with swallowing. Thank you for continuing to pray. Lord, we pray for continued progress, for dad getting off the trach, and for thriving, in the Name of Jesus.

Monday, 5/10

My dad is at 40% on the trach collar. Weaning is a very slow process we are learning. They think he might have an infection based on the secretions so they are doing a culture to see if he needs antibiotics. Praying that it's nothing as all his other numbers look good and also praying that the secretions become clear and less, that his oxygen saturation is high and also that his respiratory rate is low, in the Name of Jesus.  He's swallowing better so hopefully he can eat and drink soon and he is doing well in PT. Thank you for continuing to lift my dad up in prayer!

Wednesday, 5/5

Dad is at 35% still on the trach collar. I'm thankful he's doing well on it and getting stronger. The next step is to try the PMV which is the speaking valve. Praying his numbers are good when they try this. The next step after PMV is going to 28%, then would be capping, and if he does well with that to remove the trach. Thank you for continuing to pray!

Sunday, May 2

Dad is still doing well on trach collar. Thank you, Lord. He's at 35% (which is a very low oxygen setting), and he's doing all the breathing on his own. Praying that the secretions still lessen, that he can eat and drink asap and thrive in PT. Thank you for your continued prayers!
